40% of the total number of places are reserved for women in the local police competitive examinations.

The vacancies correspond to the 27 town councils that have delegated their powers to the Govern so that a new unified process of competitive examinations can be launched, which will be resolved before the end of the year.

Specifically, 122 vacancies will be offered in Mallorca, in the municipalities of Alcúdia, Algaida, Andratx, Binissalem, Bunyola, Calvià, Campanet, Campos, Consell, Estellencs, Llucmajor, Manacor, Mancor de la Vall, Muro, Palma, Pollença, Santanyí and Son Servera. In the case of Menorca, there will be 7 vacancies, from the municipalities of Ciutadella and Es Mercadal; in Eivissa, 3 vacancies, from the municipalities of Sant Antoni de Portamany and Sant Josep de sa Talaia, and 3 from Formentera.

Applicants may only take part in the process to apply for posts in the municipalities of a single island in the cases of Mallorca and Menorca. In the case of opting for any of the vacancies offered by local entities of Eivissa and Formentera, they will do so jointly for these two islands.

The forecast is that the physical tests can be taken in the second half of November; the knowledge tests, in the second half of November, and the psychological aptitude and personality test, in the first half of December. Afterwards, around the beginning of the year, the candidates would begin the basic training course, which is essential for acquiring the category of the local police officer.

It should be noted that, of the 135 places, 40% are reserved for women, which is why the Government is calling for them to apply and to be able to exercise their vocation of public service. In the event that there is not a presence equal to or greater than 40% of female civil servants, preference will be given to women over men until the objective of a balanced composition is met.
