\ The aim is to meet the high demand for requests and facilitate the hiring of more women victims of gender violence.

\ Since the start of the programme in 2018, nearly 740 women victims have benefited from a one-year employment contract.

\With the approved extension, the programme has reached 7 million euros to help rebuild the lives of affected women

\ This fourth call for applications will benefit around 260 women, who will be guaranteed a work contract for one year.

The Consell de Govern has authorised the Regional Ministry of Economic Model, Tourism and Labour to make available 1,650,000 € to extend the financing for 2022 of the SOIB Dona 2022-2024 call with its own funds and those of the Sectorial Conference of Employment and Labour Affairs, which will be processed through the Balearic Islands Employment Service (SOIB).

The programme, the leader in the whole of Spain, had an initial credit of 5,350,000 €, and now it has been approved to provide it with more budget, up to a total of 7,000,000 € and thus ensure that women who are victims of males violence have access to a job that allows them to become economically independent and thus resume their life project.

For the year 2022, the SOIB Dona programme had an initial credit of €1,350,000 allocated. With the approved extension, it will have €3,000,000, of which €1,350,000 comes from the funds of the State Pact against Gender Violence (Ministry of Equality), €750,000 from the Sectoral Conference on Employment and Labour Affairs (Ministry of Labour and Social Economy), and €900,000 from SOIB’s own funds.

With this call for subsidies, the SOIB finances the hiring of women for a period of one year, while they follow, at the same time, a specific orientation process. These women will be hired by local entities, non-profit entities, entities of the instrumental public sector of the CAIB, and business and trade union associations.

In view of the economic and social repercussions produced by COVID-19, this initiative to promote public contracting reinforces the protection system and the possibilities of subsequent stable employment for women victims of male violence, so that, with the credit allocated, it is planned to reach around 260 beneficiaries, 60 more than the initial forecast.

The deadline for submitting grant applications will remain open until 30 September 2024 or until the credit is exhausted. Entities may submit applications for aid until this date.

The SOIB Dona 2021 programme, which is still being implemented, has benefited 296 women, and 97 entities have participated.

Since it was implemented in 2018, this programme has provided twelve months of work to nearly 740 women in entities throughout the Balearic Islands.
