In year-on-year terms, the growth is 6.4%, making 17 consecutive months of increases, according to data released today by Turespaña.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, has assessed “these data as very positive, as one in three new jobs in October was generated in the tourism sector, which demonstrates the decisive contribution of this industry to the recovery of the economy and employment in our country”.

“The growth in enrolment with respect to a record year such as 2019 has intensified in October with respect to the records of the summer months, which could be indicating the extension of the summer season and contributing to the objective of depersonalising tourist flows, which allows progress towards a more sustainable and higher quality tourism model”, the minister pointed out.
