The Governing Council has today approved the declaration of investment of regional interest of the works by which the CEIP Miquel Costa y Llobera of Marratxí is extended with a dining room. This action will allow the removal of the modular classrooms in which the canteen service is currently offered and will benefit the 449 pupils of the centre and future pupils.
At the moment, the Regional Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, through the Balearic Institute of Infrastructures and Educational Services (IBISEC) is finalising the drafting of the execution project for the works by which the CEIP Miquel Costa i Llobera (Marratxí) will be extended with a dining room.
At present, CEIP Miquel Costa i Llobera in Marratxí offers the canteen service in modular classrooms, with the modality of transported kitchen. The average number of pupils using this service during the 2022-2023 school year is 128 and year after year an average of ten pupils per year is increasing.
A new canteen that will benefit more than a hundred pupils
The extension of the school is planned in the free area located in the northern corner of the plot where the CEIP is located and where the modular classrooms are currently located.
The constructed area to be extended is 219 m2 and includes a dining room of 103.80 m2, a kitchen of 32.50 m2 and playground bathrooms (10.70 m2) for a total of 147 m2 of usable area, and a porch of 83.15 m2.
