The project consists of six free training sessions on accessible tourism, aimed at the entire tourism value chain on the island.
The Executive Councillor for Transition, Tourism and Sports, Andreu Serra, presented the training programme included in the Mallorca Accessibility Plan at a press conference. This programme is part of the Mallorca Turisme Foundation’s Accessible Tourism Revitalisation Plan, which has been drawn up in conjunction with the PREDIF association.

At the presentation, Serra explained that “information and training are fundamental tools for breaking down barriers and fulfilling the fundamental objective of being a destination with universal accessibility”. The aim is also to disseminate all the regulatory information, as well as to share the advances and new developments in accessibility.
In total, six training sessions will be held on tourism for all. It is a totally free programme, which will be delivered telematically and is aimed at the entire tourism value chain in Mallorca. The first three sessions are already available on the website https://accesiblemallorca.com/ca/, in the professional section. They will be available until May.
The different training blocks correspond to the following concepts: introduction to accessible tourism for all, how to achieve an accessible resource, attention to the public with accessibility needs, accessible beaches, introduction to digital accessibility and how to promote an accessible resource.
The event also included a summary of the actions carried out since the start of the Plan to publicise and promote the incorporation of elements aimed at achieving universal accessibility, such as: the Tourism for All Forum (October 2022) and the plan of direct communication actions in Mallorca’s main markets, such as the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Scandinavia, Portugal and France.
During the presentation, the attendees were also informed of the main contents of the Manual of Good Practices for Accessible Resources and the Manual of Good Practices for Accessible Beaches.
It should be remembered that the Council of Mallorca, through the Mallorca Tourism Foundation, has launched the Accessible Tourism Revitalisation Plan 2021-2023, in order to have the necessary roadmap to implement public policies that favour the increase of tourism for people with disabilities. The main objective of the Plan is to apply social justice because everyone should be able to visit Mallorca, whatever their conditions and needs. The global view must be combined with the tourist fact.
Among the actions to be implemented defined in the Plan, the improvement of information about the destination, through the activation of the new tourist website https://accesiblemallorca.com/ca/, stands out.
