The City Council of Inca is once again organising the Sant Silvestre race, together with the Club Atletismo Es Raiguer and the Club Atletismo Inca. The race, which this year celebrates its 38th edition, will take place on the 31st of December, as tradition dictates.
The meeting point for this sporting event is the Polideportivo Municipal Mateu Cañellas, from where the start of the different races will take place. At 3.30 p.m. the Mini San Silvestre popular race will start, which is open to children born in 2008 and later. Afterwards, at 16:30 hours, the popular race for young people and adults will take place, with a distance of 6 kilometres.

This year, as a new feature, all proceeds from the race will go to the Spanish Foundation for Prion Diseases. “This year’s edition of the San Silvestre de Inca, which is the oldest in the Balearic Islands, is looking very good because apart from the popular nature of the race, this 38th edition also has the charitable nature that is so closely linked to Christmas,” says the councillor for sports, Antoni Peña.
Registrations can be made on the elitechip.net website. A technical T-shirt will be given to the first 1,000 people who sign up. The collection of the race bib and the technical t-shirt will take place on 31 December from 9.30 am to 4 pm at the Mateu Cañellas Municipal Sports Centre. It will only be possible to collect the bib and T-shirt from other participants with express authorisation.
