The President stressed that with the commemoration of these forty years and with today’s event, the work of the men who, through harmony, dialogue and understanding, worked to achieve the Statute and autonomy forty years ago, is being recognized.

During the act, the president has imposed the coat of arms of the Autonomous Community to the fathers of the Statute present, Lluís Piña, Joan Josep Ribas, Francesc Tutzó and Damià Ferrà Pons, and has extended it to Ignasi Ribas and Vicent Ferrer, who could not attend the act, and also to the relatives of those who have received it posthumously, such as Rafael Gil Mendoza, Fèlix Pons, Gregori Mir, Josep Cañellas and Andreu Murillo. In addition, Francesc Tutzó, on behalf of the parents of the Statute, said a few words.
