The Cycle of Teachers of the Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands (CSMIB) was born six years ago with a clear intention: to bring quality music to everyone. With this idea, the Conservatory of Music offers again this year five free concerts, performed by musicians who are benchmarks of their instrument in the Balearic Islands.

The Cycle of Teachers of the Conservatory of Music

On November 28th took place in the auditorium of the centre the first concert of this cycle, which reached its 6th edition this year. The concert was given by the flautist André Cebrián, a solo flute of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and the guitarist Pedro Mateo, principal guitar teacher of the CSMIB. They performed works from their latest album, Cartografía del mar, which includes compositions inspired by the sea by authors such as Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Brouwer, Gasull, Takemitsu or Astor Piazzolla.

After the success of the first concert, there will be four more concerts during February and April. On February 6, the Miramar Ensemble will give the concert, which will offer a program for violin, viola, cello, oboe and piano.

On February 13, a voice and piano concert will be performed by soprano Maia Planas and pianist Jesús López. Then, on February 20, it will be the turn of the duo formed by saxophonist Xabier Casal and pianist Llorenç Prats. And to close the cycle, on April 30, as has become a tradition in recent years, the winning groups of the Chamber Music Competition and the Jazz Combos Competition will be heard.

All concerts will take place at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Conservatory and access will be free until full capacity is reached.
