Since January 1, 2024, the City Council of Inca directly manages the collection and collection of taxes, fines and debts of citizens and citizens inquers, once the collaboration agreement with the Tax Agency of the Balearic Islands. “In recent years we have modernized the Town Hall building, taking over new spaces by the departments of census, environment, services, urbanism, etc., to continuously improve the attention to citizens. Now, and without doubt, we are facing what will be one of the most important changes in recent years: the recovery of the management of municipal taxes through a newly created office “Servicios Tributarios de Inca”, explains the mayor of Inca, Virgili Moreno.
Thus, to make SETI a reality, the City Council has contracted a new management and collection program and has also launched a virtual office in the technological and functional vanguard of the Balearic Islands. In this way, inqueros and inqueros will be able to carry out procedures in person or also telematically. “Our main objective is to offer a close service and that citizens and citizens can perform all procedures easily and in one place, while having greater control of their taxes,” says Moreno.
This measure not only does not involve any extraordinary expense for taxpayers but will represent a greater source of income and, therefore, more resources to invest in the city, since an intermediary such as the ATIB is dispensed with. The new municipal tax office will be managed by the existing municipal team, along with new positions of general administration and administrative technicians that will be created according to the workload.
