Celebrates the meeting of choirs of senior citizens

The Consell de Mallorca has celebrated the meeting of choirs of the elderly in the Auditorium of Alcúdia. Ten choirs from Palma and the Part Forana participated in the concert, held on the occasion of Saint Cecilia -patron saint of music- which is celebrated today. Specifically, attendees were able to enjoy the performances of the choirs of Son Dameto, L’Esplai Gent Gran Es Fortí, Camp Rodó, Montuïri, Es Turó Pòrtol, Son Sardina, Porreres, “Ca Nostra” of Capdepera, Club Horizonte and Alcúdia.

The event was inaugurated by the president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, who remarked that “this meeting for the choirs was a claim of our seniors. It is an opportunity for the enjoyment of music and enhances the relationships between participants. A meeting that we will celebrate again after this success of participation.”

To end the meeting, all the choirs sang “La Balanguera” and then, participants and attendees enjoyed a hot chocolate.
