They will be destined to different projects of conservation, restoration and diffusion of the cultural heritage.

The Consell de Mallorca and the Bishopric of Mallorca have held, this Monday, the annual meeting of the Joint Commission to plan and coordinate the actions and interventions to be carried out, this 2024, in terms of heritage.

600,000 euros to the Mixed Commission with the Bishopric

This year an investment of 657,222 euros has been approved for different projects of conservation, restoration and dissemination of cultural heritage. One of the items is destined to the digitization of documentary heritage. On the one hand, the first phase of the preventive conservation and digitization of the Miscellaneous Series of the Diocesan Archive of Mallorca -one of the most consulted series by historians- and, on the other hand, the preventive conservation and digitization of the Musical Fund of the Archive of the Congregation of San Felipe Neri of Palma -which has scores of Oratorios from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries- is approved.

This 2024 will also be carried out preliminary studies of heritage assets that present some alteration, thus ensuring the first phase of future interventions with all the guarantees. The dead virgin of the parish of San Bartomeu de Capdepera, the dead virgin of the parish of San Cristobal de Biniali, the altarpiece of the Name of Jesus of the parish of San Bartomeu de Montuïri, the Organ of Petra and the altarpiece of the Passio Imagines of the Sanctuary of San Salvador de Felanitx will be the subject of these preliminary studies.

The item of restorations is endowed with 524,222 euros and includes, this year, two items for the restoration of real estate: as the first phase of the restoration of the roof of the parish church of Sant Pere de Sencelles and the first phase of rehabilitation of the church of the Convent of the Minims of Sineu.

The restoration of the chapel of Santa Caterina Tomàs in the parish of Pollença will be completed in 2024: the intervention of its altarpiece will be finished. Also the altarpiece of San Sebastian of the parish of Lloret, the altarpiece of San Cristo of the parish of Santa Maria la Mayor de Inca and the first phase of the restoration of the Bed of the dead virgin of the parish of San Jaime de Palma will begin. It also maintains the item reserved for the restoration of organs, which includes intervention on the Santanyí, considered one of the most important works of *orgueneria of Spain with international recognition.
