The Consell de Mallorca inaugurates this Tuesday the exhibition Passió pel patrimoni moliner

It is a work that is linked to his previous exhibition Visió d’un foraster and that, according to the vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and councilor of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, “invites the public to immerse themselves in the history and beauty of these emblematic mills that were so important for the history of the island, the landscape and its inhabitants”.

The exhibition opens this Tuesday, February 27, at 6:30 p.m., in the Sound and Image Archive room, located on the third floor of the Misericordia Cultural Center. It will be available until March 30, 2024, from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“The project is not simply a series of photographs, but shows solutions to this common problem with the forgotten heritage that exists in all territories,” says the artist Luis Bort. Passió pel patrimoni moliner aims to generate a symbiosis between the public administration and the owners in order to preserve this valuable heritage.

In fact, Antònia Roca stressed that “for the government team of the Department of Culture and Heritage this is a priority: we want to encourage owners to rehabilitate their mills and make it profitable, for the good of all. This year, in the budgets, we have already included an item of 250,000 euros.” Roca encourages people to take the opportunity to “explore a captivating selection of images that highlight the importance of preserving and revitalizing this cultural heritage.”
