The President and members of the Social Council

The president and members of the Social Council of the University of the Balearic Islands are appointed for four years.

Today’s Consell de Govern has appointed Mr. Antonio Bennasar i Arbós as president of the Consell Social de la Universitat de les Illes Balears for four years from the day after his appointment was published in the Boletín Oficial de les Illes Balears (Official Bulletin of the Balearic Islands).

The Government of the Balearic Islands would also like to thank Mr. Bartomeu Llinàs Ferrà for his work at the head of the Social Council of the University of the Balearic Islands in recent years.

The appointment of Antonio Bennasar i Arbós has been made at the proposal of the Councillor for Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, and having heard the Rector of the University of the Balearic Islands.

In addition, today’s Consell de Govern has also appointed the following people as new members of the Social Council of the University of the Balearic Islands for four years:

  • Mr Francesc Jesús Fiol i Amengual and Ms Catalina Palau Costa, at the proposal of the competent councillor for university matters.
  • Ms. Ana María Jiménez i López, Mr. Antonio Bennasar i Arbós and Ms. Cristina Ferrer i González, appointed by the Parliament.
  • Mr Román Piña Homs, appointed by the Consell Insular de Menorca.
  • Mr Carlos García-Delgado Segués, appointed by the Consell Insular de Mallorca.
  • Mr Felip Cirer Costa, appointed by the Consell Insular de Ibiza.
  • Mr Francesc Mellado Serra (CCOO) and Ms Rafaela Sánchez Benítez (UGT), appointed by the trade union organisations with the highest number of representatives in the last elections in the Balearic Islands.
  • Mr Gabriel Caldentey Ramos (STEI), appointed by the most representative trade union organisation in the field of education.
  • Ms Carme Planas i Palou (CAEB), appointed by the most representative business association in the Balearic Islands.
  • Mr Jordi Mora Vallbona, appointed by the most representative organisations of small and medium-sized companies in the Balearic Islands (PIMEB).
  • Ms Paula Barca Gomila, designated by the official chambers of commerce, industry and navigation.
  • Mr José María Noguera Vert (titular) and Ms Patricia Díaz Ors (substitute), appointed by Palma City Council.
