In commemoration of International Comic Book Day on March 17th, the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de les Illes Balears joins the celebration by organising a workshop on “Storytelling for comics”, given by the renowned illustrator and comic book artist, Toni Galmès.

International Comic Book Day

For the third consecutive year, the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de les Illes Balears is taking part in the third edition of the state programme for encouraging reading “Storytellers. Literary Encounters in Art Schools”, an initiative promoted by the Directorate General for Books, Comics and Reading of the Spanish Ministry of Culture.

Through this programme, students will have the opportunity to learn about the work of the country’s leading comic authors, illustrators, cartoonists and comic book artists. They will also be able to explore the creative process, techniques and references, as well as the peculiarities of their professional practice.

The workshop “Storytelling for comics” will be given by Toni Galmès on 14 March 2024, from 16:00 to 20:30, at the facilities of the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de les Illes Balears (School of Art and Design of the Balearic Islands). The activity is aimed at students in the first and second year of the training cycle of plastic arts and design in Comics and Illustration.
