The Conselleria de Educació i Universitats promotes vocal health among teachers on World Voice Day

Today, 16th April, is World Voice Day, an event promoted since 1999 by the International Federation of Otorhinolaryngology Societies (IFOS). In this context, the Occupational Risk Prevention Service of the Direcció General de Personal Docent i Centres Concertats de la Conselleria de Educació i Universitats, has carried out a day of awareness and prevention of voice injuries at the IES Bendinat.

Promotes vocal health among teachers on World Voice Day

The main objective of this initiative is to raise awareness and sensitise the population about the importance of taking care of the voice for the optimal development of personal and work relationships. It should not be forgotten that the voice is a fundamental tool in the educational environment.

A team of professionals from the Occupational Risk Prevention Service of the Direcció General de Personal Docent i Centres Concerts from the area of occupational medicine, technical area and speech therapy area, have travelled to IES Bendinat where they have given a series of workshops whose main focus has been to inform about the interventions of the Prevention Service in the field of vocal health.

These workshops have included the detection of vocal injuries during health surveillance of teachers, medical advice and reporting of occupational diseases (nodules), workplace adaptations in case of voice pathologies, training in healthy voice care and use in schools, as well as speech therapy assistance to teachers with occupational vocal injuries or problems.
