The 2024-2025 school year will begin on 11 September and end on 20 June

The School Calendar Advisory Council has today approved the proposal of Educació, which marks 28 February as a unified school holiday.

The School Calendar Advisory Council today approved the proposed school calendar for non-university schools in the Balearic Islands for the 2024-2025 academic year, presented by the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities.

The 2024-2025 school year

The 2024-2025 academic year will begin on 11 September and end on 20 June for infant, primary, secondary, baccalaureate and special education students, except for students in the second year of baccalaureate, who will finish the academic year on 22 May so that they can take part in consolidation teaching activities before the start of the university entrance exams (PBAU).

As for vocational training students, the course will begin on 20 September, while students at the Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands (CSMIB) and the School of Dramatic Arts of the Balearic Islands (ESADIB) will begin on 23 September and those at the Adult Education Centres (CEPA) and the School of Art and Design of the Balearic Islands (EASDIB) will begin on 27 September. All of them will also finish classes on the 20th of June, except the EASDIB students who will finish the course on the 27th of June.

Finally, the students of the EEiP-Dance will begin their teaching period on 11th September, while the students of the EEiP-Music will begin on 30th September. In both cases, they will finish their teaching activities on 13 June. As for the Official Language Schools, the school calendar will run from 30 September to 30 May.

The school calendar for the academic year 2024-2025 marks 28 February as a unified school holiday. The Christmas holidays will be from 21 December to 7 January, while the Easter holidays will be from 17 April to 27 April.

The school year 2024-2025 will have a total of 176 teaching days for basic education.
