The Government delivers equipment to the groups of Civil Protection volunteers of the Balearic Islands worth 100,000 euros

The Directorate General of Emergencies today delivered the batches of material to 42 groups in Mallorca.

The Director General of Emergencies and Interior of the Government, Sebastià Sureda, attended this afternoon in the old barracks of Son Banya, the future headquarters of the School of Public Safety of the Balearic Islands, the ceremony of delivery of different lots of material to the groups of volunteers of Civil Protection of Mallorca for use in the development of their activity. It is foreseen that within April, batches of material will also be delivered to the groups of Menorca and between May and the beginning of June to the groups of the Pitiusas. The total investment of the Govern in the purchase of these working equipments has been 99.567,36 euros.

The Government delivers equipment to the groups of Civil Protection volunteers of the Balearic Islands

Specifically, the Govern has acquired 10 packs with portable radio units of the Tetraib network, 6 packs of electric pumps with hoses and individual protection equipment for its use, 8 tents of 4.5×3 m screen-printed, 4 packs of forestry tools with chainsaw, brush cutter and protection equipment, 3 electric generators of 6KVA, 8 packs of motor pumps with hoses and fittings and 11 backpacks with defibrillator, oxygen therapy and first aid kit.

The DGEI is currently awaiting a tender for a further 10 lots of Tetra communication equipment to cover all the needs of the Civil Protection volunteer associations that have requested it.

The batches of equipment have been delivered, according to the needs prioritised by the Civil Protection volunteers, to the groups of Son Servera, Andratx, Lloseta, Vilafranca de Bonany, Algaida, Llucmajor, Marratxí, Escorca, Artà, Sant Llorenç, Santanyí, Montuïri, Llubí, Porreres, Santa Margalida, Binissalem, Sineu, Sencelles, Selva, Ses Salines, Palma, Capdepera, Santa Maria del Camí, Sa Pobla, Campos, Muro, Alaró, Deià, Pollença, Sóller, Bunyola, Felanitx, Valldemossa, Mancor de la Vall, Calvià, Manacor, Lloret de Vistalegre, Maria de la Salut, Alcúdia, Inca, Santa Eugènia and Sant Joan.

The handing over of the material coincided with the election of the members of the Advisory Council of Civil Protection Volunteers of the Balearic Islands.
