The total number of seats on international flights to Spain for May 2024 has reached 11.3 million, according to data released today by Turespaña. Compared to the same month in 2023, when 10.4 million were offered, the year-on-year increase is 13%.

Planned international seats for May reach 11.3 million

For the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, ‘the seat statistics forecast for May give us a very important clue as to how the international tourism market is going to behave right at the official start of the high season, with a substantial increase in air traffic, which for this month shows even better values than in 2023’.

Comparing the forecasts for the number of seats in May 2024 with the data recorded on the same date in 2023, the main outbound markets to Spain continue to perform well: the United Kingdom (+8%), Germany (+13.3%) and Italy (+13.5%).

Also noteworthy are the strong increases in Poland (+53.4%), the Czech Republic (+42.7%) and the USA (+20.9%).

In addition, markets such as Sweden, Colombia and Switzerland also showed significant increases of more than 10% in May.
