IKI Health, was awarded at the EmprendeXXI Awards as the startup with the greatest potential in the Balearic Islands

The company IKI Health has been recognised at the EmprendeXXI Awards as the most innovative technology-based company in the Balearic Islands. The Regional Minister for Enterprise, Employment and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, took part in the awards ceremony that took place this lunchtime at the CaixaFòrum in Palma, together with the regional director of CaixaBank in the Balearic Islands, María Cruz Rivera, and the director of Communication and Promotion of Enisa, Carmen Cuesta.

The EmprendeXXI Awards aim to recognise the entrepreneurial spirit of the start-ups with the greatest impact in their territory and which generate the best solutions to the main challenges of tomorrow. The awards are organised by CaixaBank, through DayOne and the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, through ENISA. In the Balearic Islands, they are supported by the Fundació Bit and the Institute for Business Innovation of the Balearic Islands (IDI), a body under the Ministry of Enterprise, Employment and Energy.

IKI Health has been selected among the 26 nominations that have been presented to the awards in the Islands. The EmprendeXXI Awards have established themselves as a benchmark for the entrepreneurial ecosystem, both nationally and regionally.

With this award, IKI Health has received a cash prize of 6,000 euros and access to a training programme in an innovation hub of global reference. In addition, IKI Health will also have the opportunity to participate in the Investors Day EmprendeXXI, where they will be able to maintain contact with investors and companies interested in collaborating with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and will become part of the AlumniXXI community, composed of founders and winners of past editions.

The jury in charge of selecting the winning company was made up of relevant members of the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as Antonio Carmona, regional secretary general for Innovation of the Regional Ministry of Economy and Finance; José Antonio Caldés, director general of Enterprise, Self-Employment and Trade; Silvia Delgado, director of the IDI; Sebastián González, manager of the Bit Foundation; Carmen Planas, president of CAEB, and Yoan Blanc, president of Joves Empresaris; among others.

In addition to IKI Health, the rest of the finalist startups in the Balearic Islands participated in the event and had the opportunity to present their projects:

  • eBoats Experience: is the nautical rental base for the boats built at Nauta Morgau ecoboats. This shipyard designs, builds and sells its boats using sustainable materials and equips them with electric motors.
  • Hotel Treats: marketplace that allows you to buy experiences and gift vouchers in luxury hotels without having to stay at the hotel.
  • Tripresale: marketplace that enables the resale of hotel stays between individuals.
  • We Are Lab: eco-design laboratory for a sustainable environmental future whose aim is to carry out specific innovations in the circular economy, in the regeneration of marine biodiversity, in aerospace research and in alternatives to plastics with carbon-negative eco-materials.
