Mallorca participates in the Dubai tourism fair

Mallorca is actively participating in the Arabian Travel Market, the international tourism fair being held from 6 to 9 May. A delegation from the island headed by Susanna Sciacovelli, Director of Tourism for Demand and Hospitality, has travelled to Dubai. The delegation also includes the employers’ association Essentially Mallorca and ABACTUR as collaborators.
The demand profile of the Middle Eastern market
In addition to the agenda of the fair, Tourism of Mallorca has organised a networking event (Mallorca meets Dubai) in the course of which it has been possible to interact more concretely with the different representatives of the sector. The aim is to gain first-hand knowledge of the latest innovative trends in sustainable travel and to identify strategies within specific products.

In the case of the Middle East market, luxury and, increasingly, responsible and sustainable luxury, is a general trend and one of the priority targets in terms of travel demand. It is also worth noting that the Middle East market has a year-round demand outlook, with a particular focus on luxury products and leisure activities.
Agenda and partners
The island’s team is playing an active role in this international meeting. The aim is to analyse the possibilities of the Middle Eastern market, as well as to make the island known to its tourism partners. The island is taking part in the Turespaña stand.
Mallorca’s agenda has focused on making contact with opinion leaders to find out about trends in the tourism industry in the region. Thus, among others, meetings are being held with airlines such as Etihad, Flynas or Emirates Airlines; media in their Middle East editions, such as The Times, Dubai Global News, News Week, Condé Nast or the Association of Tourism Journalists; national and international tourism companies, as well as some of the different tourism leaders operating in the area, such as Melià, Riu, 25Hours hotels, Four Seasons, Mandarin Hotels or the international platform Amadeus. Meetings were also held with representatives of public bodies, such as Turespaña and the UAE Ministry of Culture.

ATM Dubai
This is the 31st edition of the Dubai trade fair, which is attended by professionals from the world of tourism, representatives from different governments and destinations, as well as international press gathered at the Dubai World Trade Centre. More than 2,000 exhibitors from 165 countries will share the space and the expected attendance will be more than 40,000 people.
The fair has established itself as one of the leading meeting points for the international tourism market.
