Inca recovers the history of the great leather brands

Therefore, with this new exhibition the Museum of Footwear and Industry aims to transport visitors to the heart of fashion and leather. “Leather Factory Shop is more than an exhibition, it is an open door to the living history of Inca, with which we want to highlight the importance of the leather industry in the region and not only the shoe factories”, says the councillor delegate of the Leather Factory Shop. says the councillor responsible for the Museum, Andreu Caballero.

To speak of Inca is to speak of leather, tradition, artisan culture, entrepreneurial spirit and an economic sector based on the creation and consolidation of products synonymous with quality. Shoes have undoubtedly been an icon and emblem of the city. However, throughout the 20th century, a parallel industry developed in Mallorca that undoubtedly contributed to turning the Inca and its region, the Raiguer, into an international benchmark: the leather goods and leather clothing industry.

“Leather Factory Shop” includes, therefore, a small sample of all the great leather shops and factories of Inca, which are part of the history of the city. The opening of the exhibition will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday.
