The Island Commission on Sexual Exploitation

Representatives of IMAS, Government Delegation, Security Forces and Corps, Government of the Balearic Islands, Palma City Council, entities and other agents involved in the care of children and adolescents in Mallorca, have participated today in the seventh session of the Insular Commission of Child and Adolescent Sexual Exploitation, the first of this legislature.
Intensifying the actions carried out to tackle this scourge by raising awareness and reinforcing detection and intervention mechanisms is the objective of this body created in January 2020 and which today, for the first time, has been legally formalised.

In addition to analysing the current situation and working and sharing all the initiatives that have been carried out for the prosecution of crimes related to the protection of children and adolescents who are exposed, the meeting was also used to study new lines of joint action and to learn about some of the specific programmes promoted by organisations such as Amaranta, which specialises in the care of children and adolescents in situations of neglect or risk.
