Educació introduces changes to the process of allocating teaching posts

The Mesa Sectorial de Educación has today negotiated these modifications, which allow teachers to order vacancies according to their preferences, and they will also be able to modify their details once the vacancies are made public during July. Thus, they will be able to choose the preferred specialities and the islands of destination.

If applicants for a vacancy resign more than once, they will be penalised for two years, as was the case until now. The novelty is that, if they participate in the process of an urgent procedure, they will be able to return to the ordinary list, for which the penalty will be annulled.

All these measures have been taken to fill vacant posts on the islands of Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, especially after the relaxation of the conditions for secondments, whereby most of the displaced teachers will be able to return to their island of residence.

On the other hand, it has been reported that the lists of vacant posts will include posts that are difficult and very difficult to fill. It should be recalled that the complement of these positions will be determined at the next Technical Committee on Insularity to be held on 17 June in Formentera. At the same time, the Conselleria d’Educació i Universitats is working to create a pool of housing to be made available to teachers displaced from their island of residence.
