During the last weeks, several schools have learned about fish and fishing, marine pollution, water protection, as well as the different types of vessels.

On June 10, children of 3, 4 and 5 years old from CEIP Bocchoris visited the port of Pollença. Accompanied by their teachers and PortsIB staff, they enjoyed a walk through the facilities, learning about fish and fishing, marine pollution, water protection, as well as the different types of boats and the various tasks carried out in the ports. At the end of the visit, all the children received a poster of the port to paint, some paints and a key ring as a souvenir.

During the last weeks, several educational centers have participated in these visits to the ports managed by PortsIB. Centers such as CEIP s’Algar (Portocolom) and CEIP Joan Veny i Clar (Colònia de Sant Jordi) have visited PortsIB facilities.

These educational activities, which have been carried out for years, are adapted to the curricular needs of children and deal with topics such as fishing, food, pollution, as well as the daily life of port work and types of vessels. The aim is to educate children about the importance of marine conservation and port operations.

PortsIB continues its commitment to educate and raise awareness about the importance of ports and the environment to new generations, promoting activities that combine learning and fun.
