\ The Government will allocate almost 3 million euros to create 517 places for children from 0 to 3 years of age: 200 new places and 317 from private centres that will become state-subsidised.

\ The aim of the Conselleria de Educació i Universitats is for free education to reach all families in this phase of education.

The Butlletí Oficial de les Illes Balears (Official Bulletin of the Balearic Islands) publishes today the call for grants for the expansion of authorised private educational centres and for the conversion of care centres that regularly attend children from 0 to 3 years of age without educational authorisation. The amount of these subsidies is 2,997,100 €, to create 517 new places for 0 to 3 year olds and extend free education to the whole cycle of infant education.

Aids for the creation of places in the first cycle of nursery education and the conversion of private centres have been announced

With this aid, the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities will subsidise with up to 6,300 euros the creation of each place in the case of authorised centres, for which an increase of 317 places is planned. In the case of centres without educational authorisation, the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities has increased the contribution from 4,000 to 5,000 euros for the creation of places. In this case, 200 new places are expected to be created.

The centres and school places resulting from this call for applications must have the authorisation of the Conselleria de Educació i Universitats as an educational centre and must apply for the subscription of the educational agreement for these units.

The eligible actions are the necessary works for the extension of the authorised private educational centres and, in the case of the reconversion of centres, the adaptation works necessary to obtain the educational authorisation. Both for the extension and for the conversion of centres, the places to be created or consolidated must have been in operation for at least 12 years.
