The Executive Council of the Consell Insular de Menorca has approved the bases and the call for aid to plant defence groups (ADV) on the island for actions carried out from 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2024.

These are the figure adopted in Spain of plant health, so that the fight against pests is done efficiently and respectful of the health of people and animals. The groups advise producers on the materials that can be used in phytosanitary treatments and assist them in all matters relating to the products grown. Moreover, the agricultural conditions of Menorca, in terms of climate, intensity and variety of crops, make the problems of plant health particularly complex.

The Department of Economy and General Services increases aid to plant protection groups to 60,000 euros

Thus, the purpose of this aid is to compensate the cost of the actions of plant defence groups in Menorca, both small and medium-sized farms, for the prevention, control and eradication of certain plant pests and the damage caused.

The maximum budget allocation for this call for proposals is 60,000 euros, an increase of 10,000 euros compared to last year. The maximum amount that each ADV can obtain is 32,000 euros, while each final beneficiary can obtain a maximum of 2,000 euros. In the next few days, the rules and the call for applications will be published in the BOIB.
