The number of teachers in public schools grows by 2.5%, with 13,872 more teachers. The total number of students enrolled in non-university education is 8,337,537.

The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sport has published the statistic ‘Advance data 2023-2024’, which highlights the growth of Vocational Training students and the enrolment rate in the First Cycle of Pre-school Education, the highest in the historical series.

One of the main commitments of this Government and the Ministry is to extend, with more investment and more resources, schooling from 0 to 2 years of age. For this reason, it is worth highlighting the significant increase in enrolment in the First Cycle of Infant Education, which is up 2.8% and 12,957 pupils, which means reaching the highest enrolment rate for 0 to 2-year-olds in the historical series: 48.3%. The number of centres providing this cycle of education also increased this year, growing by 368, a 3.4% increase.
