200,000 for the UN project against gender-based violence in Central America
The Consell de Govern has authorised the Regional Minister for Families and Social Affairs to grant a subsidy to the United Nations Women’s Agency (UN Women) for an amount of 200,000 € for 2024.
This grant will enable the project “Initiative for the Eradication of Gender-based Violence against Women in Conditions of Human Mobility in Central America” to be carried out.
UN Women will participate in a very significant way in the humanitarian response mechanisms established in the countries, such as the Human Mobility Group of the Humanitarian Country Team in Panama and the UN Working Group for Trafficked Persons in Costa Rica, together with other UN agencies, migration authorities, women’s ministries, human mobility and women’s rights organizations and relevant protection networks.
