The tenth edition of the Orchestral Encounter returns on 17th July, conducted by Bartomeu Tur Marí

The main objective of this week of professional encounters is to unify the island’s musical resources, hence the name Encuentro Orquestal, which, as usual, culminates with a concert by the participating students grouped as the Eivissa Youth Symphony Orchestra on the 22nd of July at 7:30 pm in the Auditorium of the Cas Serres Social and Cultural Centre. The participating students, 43 of whom have signed up so far, will have the opportunity to work under the direction of the renowned young Ibizan conductor Bartomeu Tur Marí, as well as with specialised teachers who will act as teaching guides throughout the week.

In a didactic, integrative and educational way, this meeting will also serve to unify the musical resources of Eivissa and in this edition, the students enrolled will also have the opportunity to share rehearsals and experiences with professional musicians from the Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de Eivissa (OSCE) and this will allow them to meet first-hand the musicians from Eivissa who play and perform regularly in this orchestra, which will give them a much more immersive and pedagogical experience.

This year the pedagogical team is made up of:

Cello teacher: Mónica Marí

Violin and viola teachers: Neus Guasch Ferrer and Ramses Puente Matos

Double bass teacher: Salvatore Licitra

Woodwind teacher: Roland Cardona Segura

Woodwind teacher: Vicent Tur Ramón

Coordinator: Iván Mérgola Gómez

This edition was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Patronato de Música del Ayuntamiento de Eivissa and the support of the Conservatorio Profesional de Música y Danza de Eivissa y Formentera “Catalina Bufí”, the Escuela Municipal de Música del Ayuntamiento de Santa Eulalia del Río, the Escuela de Música Can Blau de San José de sa Talaia and the Escuela Municipal de Música del Ayuntamiento de Sant Antoni de Portmany.
