Inca Hospital attended 39,146 emergencies during the first six months of this year

The Hospital Comarcal de Inca attended to 39,146 emergencies during the first six months of this year. This is an increase of 5.75% over the same period last year when 37,019 were attended.

Inca Hospital attended 39,146 emergencies during the first six months of this year

Most of the emergencies attended, 26,510, were general emergencies, followed by paediatric emergencies, 7,308. There were 2,674 gynaecological emergencies, while there were also 1,468 ophthalmology emergencies.

Only 7.43% of patients treated in the ED had to be admitted to the hospital. The average length of stay in the ED was 4.7 hours.

May was the month in which most emergencies were attended, 5,875 to be precise, with a daily average of 189.5 people.

It should be remembered that a year ago, in June 2023, the Hospital Comarcal de Inca opened a new Emergency Department, measuring 2,263 square metres (almost 1,000 square metres more than the old one), which has forty seats, ten seats and six short-stay unit beds for adults and seven seats, six bunk beds and two short-stay unit beds for paediatric patients.

For the past year, adult and paediatric emergencies have been handled by separate circuits, which has improved care and the quality of care.
