The government earmarks 1.13 million euros to sponsor the participation of fourteen non-professional teams in top-level national and international competitions

This sponsorship will go to fourteen clubs competing in basketball, handball, cycling, football, futsal, indoor football, artistic gymnastics, table tennis and volleyball.

The Directorate General of Sports of the Balearic Government has presented a sports sponsorship package worth a total of 1,136,840 euros, which will benefit fourteen clubs and non-profit organisations to participate in regular leagues of the highest national non-professional category, in top-level international circuits or regular leagues of the second national women’s category. These sponsorships correspond to the second half of the 2023-2024 season and the 2024-2025 season.

The councillor for Tourism, Culture and Sport, Jaume Bauzà, has highlighted the change in the model of these sponsorships. ‘We are moving from an annual subsidy to one per season, which makes it easier for the clubs to manage and organise this aid. Bauzà also took the opportunity to point out that sport is a basic tool for shaping the society of the future and that it is necessary to support it at all levels.

Sporty Cycling Club (125,000 euros)
Ciutadella Volleyball Club (125,000 euros)
Manacor Volleyball Club (119,000 euros)
Club Vóley Palma (113,000 euros)
Hanbol Club Eivissa (80,000 euros)
Club Xelska of women’s artistic gymnastics (50.000 euros)
Club Handbol Marratxí (25,840 euros)
Voltors American Football Club (15.000 euros)
Son Cladera Tennis Taula (15,000 euros)
Sant Josep Obrer Basketball Club (15,000 euros)
CIDE Volleyball Club (15,000 euros)
Club Volei Sóller Volleyball Club (14,000 euros)
