The III Commemoration of World Photography Day by Unesco is dedicated 2024 to photographs taken by both amateur and beginner photographers. The central theme is the participation of Binissalem, as a representative of the municipalities of the Balearic Islands, in the National Grand Prix Competition, Fil·loxera de l’Infern, together with the Elements Exhibition. Thus, Binissalem pays tribute to its people and its environment.

This III Commemoration of World Photography Day by Unesco, allows us to delight in different photographs that show the most endearing moments experienced by the participants and organizers from the moment the news is given to the town until the participation of Binissalem as a representative of the municipalities of the Balearic Islands, in the program broadcast on August 12, 2024.

This Commemoration is accompanied by the Elements Exhibition, in which we appreciate the four elements represented. Empedocles imagined a complex physical model: the perceptible world was explained by the combination of the four material elements: Earth, Water, Air and Fire
The four elements of nature, Earth, Water, Air and Fire, were, for many ancient doctrines, the basic constituents of matter and explained the behaviour of the physical world.

This year Bernardí Carbonell Mut is one of the privileged ones who will exhibit at the
III Commemoration of World Photography Day by UNESCO.

Bernardí Carbonell Mut will represent the element Air. Different sheets of birds, painted in charcoal, native to the Balearic Islands, and many in danger of extinction have been wisely drawn.

Air is an essential element for the development of life on Earth, without it plants, animals, or human beings could not exist. Air: element of life on Earth. Air is a mixture of gases that form the atmosphere, which is why it is found everywhere.

We meet Bernardí Carbonell Mut.

How did your relationship with the world of drawing begin?
My relationship with the world of drawing has always been present.
My first memory is from school. I went to school in Lluc and won a prize there. Then I forgot about it and it was only recently that I took up my hobby again.

What can we find in your drawings?
Stone facades are the most popular. You can commission me by calling me on 605 510 270.
I have also painted landscapes, girls, and boats. Being self-taught, everything related to drawing makes me very curious.

Tell us a secret?
I am very satisfied with the great reception my drawings have had. I already have a permanent exhibition in Sa Pobla and the most recent one was at the end of July 2023, during the Inca Patron Saint Festivities.

What would you say to your neighbours in Lloseta?
They have landscapes and atmospheres that I would like to draw. So one of my dreams would be to exhibit in Lloseta.
