The City Council of Inca activates a public call for the granting of subsidies to Inca families with children of compulsory school age who have financial difficulties coping with the purchase of textbooks or school supplies. Substitute material is understood to be all those documents, photocopies, software and other materials that replace textbooks.

‘This line of aid aims to move towards free compulsory schooling so that no child in Inca is deprived of the education they deserve, regardless of their family’s economic background. It is a question of democratisation of education and economic justice,’ explains the Councillor for Education, Helena Cayetano Gómez.

The Inca Town Council will subsidise the purchase of textbooks for families

For this purpose, there is an item of €90,000 reserved in the General Budget of the City Council of Inca for the financial year 2024. Only students enrolled in schools in Inca, at compulsory levels of education (Primary and ESO) and in the 2024/2025 academic year may benefit from the measure. The maximum amount of the subsidy will be 200€ per pupil applicant and the family income and the number of children will be taken into account for the granting of subsidies.
