Llorenç Galmés, accompanied by the councillor of the Presidency, Antoni Fuster, stressed that ‘it is essential that public institutions provide resources so that the aid is as effective as possible and guarantee projects that respond to real needs’. For this reason, the president reported that the island institution has given extraordinary financial support to the Amar Ucraïna campus project, and with the same objective, has allocated 10,000 euros to the Vacances en Pau programme of the Asociación Amigos del Pueblo Saharaui, which means a total of 30,000 euros for projects dedicated to ‘giving a break to children who are living through war’.

The campus, in which the Consell de Mallorca is participating, will host a total of 220 minors, who have lost their parents to the war, in 11 groups divided up until November. At the reception, Galmés praised the dedication and solidarity of the Amar Ucraïna association, which has created ‘a space in which for two weeks they will leave aside the cruelty that is lived in their country to enjoy a large number of activities on our island’. He also encouraged the children to feel at home every time they visit Mallorca.

The event was attended by the president of the Fons Mallorquí, Llorenç Perelló, the technical coordinator, Antònia Roselló, the president of Amar Ucraïna, Anastasia Kvach, and the association’s project coordinator, Carlos Pons.
