The Consell de Mallorca reforms the road from Selva to Mancor with a budget of 883,000 euros

The councillor of Territory, Mobility and Infrastructures, Fernando Rubio, today visited the works to reinforce the road surface and safety of the road as part of the plan to improve Mallorca’s secondary network.

The Consell de Mallorca has begun work to renovate and improve the safety of the road between Selva and Mancor. The project has a budget of 882,892 euros and is part of the plan to improve Mallorca’s secondary network. The Minister of Territory, Mobility and Infrastructures, Fernando Rubio, today visited the work being carried out on this road, which runs from the Biniamar crossroads to Selva. He was accompanied by the island’s director of Infrastructures, Rafel Gelabert, and the mayors and councillors of Mancor and Selva.

The purpose of the works is to reinforce the road surface to replace very deteriorated asphalt to improve drainage and prevent the accumulation of water. Mixed steel and wooden safety barriers will also be installed in some places to improve the safety of the road. The works will last four months and are expected to be finished in early October.

The councillor for Territory, Mobility and Infrastructures, Fernando Rubio, explained that this action ‘is part of the Consell de Mallorca’s plan to improve the secondary road network and that in the coming months, different packages of road surface reinforcement works will be put out to tender all over the island with a budget of 20 million euros’. Rubio added: ‘These are roads like the one we visited today, between Selva and Mancor, where the asphalt was very deteriorated and it is necessary to carry out work, as maintenance work is insufficient’. The councillor explained that the budget for the work is almost 883,000 euros and will last four months.
