Primary Attention of Mallorca approves a call to fill ten positions of clinical psychologist

These positions are in addition to the three positions for clinical psychologists that were added to SAMU 061 in January to strengthen the actions aimed at improving and expanding the mental health actions contemplated in the creation of the Directorate General.

To be eligible for the selective process it is necessary to qualify as a psychologist specialising in clinical psychology (via PIR) or be in a position to obtain it by the deadline for submitting applications, which ends on 11 October. The main functions of these positions are as follows:

Strengthen the resources of primary care teams to assess and address the mental health of the population, for example, facilitating the identification of the emotional distress of the people attended.
Offer individual and/or group psychological care to improve the mental health of the population.
Collaborate as a member of the primary care team in the promotion of health and prevention of mental health problems within the framework of the health centre’s community health process.
Promote coordination and communication between the different health resources or devices involved in the care process (mental health units, suicide prevention care teams, etc.).
To develop training and teaching tasks.
To carry out their own research projects or in collaboration with entities, of interest for the development of the clinical psychologists’ activity.
These are full-time positions and the selection process consists of a theoretical-practical test (a test-type questionnaire and the resolution of a clinical case) and a competition phase, which will be assessed by a selection committee.

Those who would like more detailed information can consult the call for applications, published on 28 September in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands.
