The regional secretary for Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue, Catalina Cabrer, today opened the 1st Forum on Employment and Disability, organised by the Balearic Islands Employment Service (SOIB) and PalmaActiva. Also in attendance were the director of the SOIB, Mariluz Moreno, and the councillor for Commerce, Catering and the Self-Employed of Palma City Council, Lupe Ferrer.

SOIB and PalmaActiva hold the 1st Forum on Employment and Disability
The conference dealt with technical issues and ways of complying with the General Law on Disability for companies with more than 50 workers, and featured a group of experts who debated the subject in front of more than a hundred attendees.
Cabrer, regional secretary for Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue, stated that it is a challenge for the administration to promote compliance with this law. ‘In this matter, we all have a responsibility and we all add up,’ she said.
After the explanation of the law by the SOIB’s legal services, FoQua (Forum for Quality Association), Mención and Mater explained how it works and its success stories.
To end the day, the head of Development and Projects of CAEB, Mavia Isern, explained the functioning of CAEB Facilita, a programme to promote access to the labour market for people who have more difficulties in accessing employment.
