The Government publishes a grant of 400,000 euros for sporting events that help to deseasonalize tourism
For the first time, this subsidy can be applied for by clubs and organisers of this type of event, something which until now could only be applied for by sports federations. The purpose of the call for applications is, on the one hand, to support projects of special relevance that have an impact on the promotion of top-level sport and are included in the calendar of the sports federations, and, on the other hand, to support projects that have an impact on the promotion of sport and have an effect on the deseasonalisation of tourism and the promotion of the Balearic Islands.
It is also established that events held between 1 June and 15 September 2024 will not be eligible for subsidies as they take place during the so-called high tourist season.
This line of aid was published on Saturday 5 October in the BOIB and applications can be submitted until Friday 18 October 2024.
