The Consell joins the ‘Mallorca on the move against cancer’ solidarity race
During the presentation, President Galmés assured that ‘the Consell de Mallorca’s commitment to the fight against cancer is firm and resolute’. In this sense, he explained that the institution collaborates with the contribution of 1,000 commemorative t-shirts of the event and children’s medals for children under 12 years of age who participate in the race.
The President of the Consell de Mallorca stressed that ‘this is a solidarity initiative that, on the one hand, raises funds for the fight against cancer by promoting research and, on the other, promotes healthy lifestyle habits based on physical exercise, which is essential for prevention’. He also pointed out that this year’s edition has a luxury sponsor: the triple Olympic medallist, Marcus Cooper. ‘In addition to being a great figure in the world of sport, he also demonstrates his worth and solidarity with causes such as the fight against cancer’, said Galmés.
Finally, President Galmés encouraged all Mallorcans to participate and show that Mallorca is a land of solidarity. He also added that, like last year, he will participate in the eight-kilometre race. Lastly, he thanked the Spanish Association Against Cancer for their work ‘in supporting people who suffer from this disease and their families, raising awareness and also seeking funds to promote research, which is the only way to put an end to this disease,’ he concluded.
