The Consell de Eivissa presents the Tourism Intelligence System at the Madrid Tech Show technology fair

On 16th and 17th October the Consell Insular de Eivissa took part in the Madrid Tech Show technology fair, in the Big Data & AI area, where it presented the recently created Eivissa Tourism Intelligence System (SIT Ibiza). Through the presentations organised by Smartup, one of the companies providing data to the SIT, the coordinator of this tourism observatory, Simón Tur, explained to the attendees the objectives of this tool designed to optimise the island’s tourism management.

He explained the benefits and capabilities of the SIT, a system designed to improve decision-making based on data with a commitment to more sustainable and technologically advanced tourism. The SIT works on the collection, management and analysis of all statistical information that may be of interest to the Eivissa tourism industry.

Since it was set up, this office has worked on obtaining data from public sources such as AENA, INE and IBESTAT, to which new private sources have been added (agreed with town councils, employers’ associations and associations), such as Mabrian, a member company of the UN World Tourism Organisation since 2023; Amadeus, with its travel booking system, are leaders in the tourism distribution sector; Orange, with the collection of mobility data for residents and visitors; Orange, with the collection of data on the mobility of residents and visitors to Eivissa, and Orange, with the collection of data on the mobility of tourists.

After the presentation, the SIT Ibiza established contacts with various tourism representatives from Navarre, the Basque Country and the Canary Islands interested in learning about the work being done in Ibiza in this area.

Madrid Show Tech was held at IFEMA, with more than 400 exhibiting companies and more than 350 presentations by professionals.
