The Government of the Balearic Islands has increased the budget for CAIB-ISBA 2024-2025 aid for the business fabric of the Balearic Islands by 3.2 million euros. The positive evolution of the line, especially for business investment financing operations for SMEs, has led to an increase in the budget allocation for aid in a total amount of 3.2 million euros so that the total amount of the call increases from 18.6 to 21.8 million euros.

The Regional Ministry of Economy, Finance and Innovation published on 26 September 2024 the modification of this call, which subsidises the financial costs of investment financing and business liquidity operations formalised with financial institutions and guaranteed by mutual guarantee companies such as ISBA, SGR, published on 29 February 2024.

The Government of the Balearic Islands increases by 3.2 million euros the CAIB-ISBA 2024-2025 grants for SMEs

In the initial call, the category of investment in innovation was introduced with a higher economic amount of aid, to encourage and support this type of operation. With the modification of the call for proposals, the recipients of this greater economic endowment of aid are extended to investments in digitalisation and sustainability, given that this regional ministry wants to promote digitalisation for the development of the competitiveness of the business fabric and sustainability in climate and social matters.

Given the high demand for investment aid, the budget has been increased for both 2024 and 2025 for all types of business investment, both productive and in innovation, digitisation and sustainability.

In addition, in the initial call for proposals, specific grants were created for leasing operations for SMEs, which have been well received, which is why the budget for these operations has been increased for 2025.

In order to obtain this aid, companies must be small or medium-sized companies (or certain large eligible companies) that wish to carry out an investment in production centres located in the Balearic Islands or have liquidity needs and finance it through an operation with a financial entity guaranteed by a reciprocal guarantee company such as ISBA, SGR.

ISBA, SGR’s guarantee is essential for access to credit for the self-employed and small and medium-sized companies in the Balearic Islands, and it also allows them to obtain this financing with good financial conditions, thanks to ISBA, SGR’s agreements with most of the financial institutions on the market.

The purpose of the line of aid is to facilitate access to financing for SMEs in the Balearic Islands and through the subsidy from the Autonomous Community for the financial costs (interest, commissions) of financing operations, companies can obtain financing at a lower cost than they would obtain on the market.

The aid may be co-financed under the ERDF Programme 2021-2027 of the Balearic Islands.

Contact with ISBA, SGR

To obtain more information about the financing of their investment, companies should contact ISBA, SGR, a collaborating entity for the management of the grants (https://www.isbasgr.es/es/).

ISBA, SGR, advises companies on how to obtain financing for their investment project. In addition, ISBA, SGR, has agreements with the main financial institutions with advantageous financial conditions for its clients. It should be borne in mind that both ISBA, SGR and the financial institutions will approve the financial operation under their risk assessment criteria, taking into account the company’s ability to repay the capital loaned.

The financing operations must be formalised between 1 December 2023 and 30 November 2025.

The call for applications is open until 5 December 2025 and information is available at:
