The troops have departed on a boat that Baleària has made available to the Government, which has shown its cooperation from the first day, and the Gandía City Council has offered them accommodation. The president was accompanied by the Director General of Emergencies, Pablo Gárriz, the councillor for Agriculture, Fisheries and the Environment, Joan Simonet, as well as technicians from the Directorate General of Emergencies, IBANAT and IB-Salut.
This aid is in addition to the million euros that the Government of the Balearic Islands will allocate to the purchase of basic necessities for those affected by the hurricane, which will be channelled through the Federation of Local Entities (FELIB), in response to a call from the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP). Prohens also thanked the citizens of the Balearic Islands for all their expressions of solidarity.
