The agreement guarantees the continuity of the service with a budget of 3 million euros and maintains the initial prices for each zone.
The continuity of the service ensures environmental quality in the treatment of wastewater in the archipelago

The prices are maintained for each of the geographical areas into which the service is divided: the Mallorca areas have a budget ranging from 193,980 euros to 337,460 euros, while the Menorca areas have been allocated amounts of 266,514 and 308,904 euros. The two areas of Ibiza have a budget of 326,259 euros and 335,355 euros, respectively.
The total budget will be distributed between 2024 and 2025, with an amount of 1,032,368.91 euros for 2024 and 2,064,737.83 euros for 2025. The extension has been necessary because the new contracts, which are currently in the tendering process, will be awarded in 2024 and 2025.
The extension has been necessary because the new contracts, currently in the tendering process, cannot be concluded before the end of the current contract on 30 November 2024. This measure ensures the continuity of an essential service for the treatment of wastewater and the maintenance of sanitation infrastructures in the archipelago.
This service is essential for preserving environmental quality and guaranteeing the efficient management of water resources. The Balearic Water and Environmental Quality Agency supervises these operations to ensure that the infrastructures comply with sustainability standards and current regulations.
