Board of Inspiration. We are Miró’, is not only an artistic exhibition composed of 40 works of different artistic techniques, but also an exercise in creative education to promote a pedagogical approach in which creativity and research are deeply interconnected. The exhibition, which will be on display at the Cookhouse Gallery in London until 9 November, was created not only to showcase emerging talent, but also to establish synergies and alliances between Mallorca and London, two epicentres of contemporary art today.
Minister Bauzà described it as ‘extraordinary’ and a ‘milestone’ for the Balearic Islands to combine art and education in the Balearic Islands in this exhibition, and, in particular, to see with pride the emerging talent that we find in our students of the Grau Belles Arts: ‘This exhibition is not only an example of educational excellence and creativity of our young people, but also positions our Islands as a benchmark in artistic training and cultural research at an international level’, he explained.
This collaboration between ADEMA and the University of the Arts London (Chelsea College of Arts), which also has the support of the IEB and the AETIB, reflects the capacity and power of education to build bridges that transcend borders. ‘Thanks to the joint work of all of you, today we bring the essence of Miró and, by extension, the essence of the art and culture of the Balearic Islands, here to London’, added Bauzà.
For his part, both the President of the Board of Trustees of the University School ADEMA, Diego González, and the Head of Studies of the Degree in Fine Arts, Amparo Sard, congratulated the students and the team of teachers of ADEMA and the University of the Arts London-Chelsea College of Arts, for this ‘excellent’ research work that not only shows the effort and talent of our young people but also reflects ADEMA’s firm commitment to internationalisation.
The exhibition has been the result of months of work exchanging ideas, research and experiences of students in a creative environment with the intention of understanding how are the new creative processes from deepening the inspirational elements of the most influential artist of the twentieth century in contemporary art, Joan Miró, replicating this process to this collective project.
Next big event: 2025, the International Biennial of University Art in Majorca.
But this exhibition becomes the prelude to the great event that the University School ADEMA is preparing for June 2025. Both Diego González and Amparo Sard announced in London the celebration of the International Biennial of University Art of Mallorca-Art Week ADEMA 2025, a pioneering initiative on the international scene to offer a great opportunity for emerging art, new technologies and research generated between international universities. ‘We are looking forward to seeing your work and sharing it with the rest of the students from the most prestigious universities in the world,’ they said.

Amparo Sard, Head of Studies of the Degree in ADEMA-Fine Arts, explained that ‘this event, which will be joined by other university centres, aims to bring together the world’s leading Fine Arts universities in Mallorca, with the purpose of exhibiting a selection of works created by students in their final years or recent graduates. This biennial meeting not only serves as a platform for the exhibition of artistic innovations, but also showcases and promotes diversity in the productive, creative and research structure of the participating university institutions’.
The Biennial will be expanded across several campuses and venues in Mallorca by ADEMA in Inca and Coll d’en Rabassa and specific collaborators, offering a rich and varied experience to attendees, such as the Barceló Foundation in Palma, the Cultural Centre of La Misericordia, and venues in different municipalities of the island.

Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy pieces that are at the forefront of contemporary art and design.
