On the airport motorway, traffic will be restricted on Sunday from 9 pm to 7 am from the Palacio de Congresos to the access via de Cintura, which in turn will be completely closed in both directions until the Valldemossa road.
Work to reinforce the road surface on the Via de Cintura and the fourth lane on the airport motorway continues at night from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. as of Sunday. For this purpose, there will be traffic cuts and restrictions until Thursday the 14th. The work is included in the Plan de Accesos a Palma (Palma Access Plan) and has a budget of 16 million euros.

Traffic restrictions on the airport motorway and night-time closures via de Cintura from Sunday until Thursday due to roadworks to reinforce the road surface and the fourth lane
On Sunday night, work will be carried out on the airport motorway from the Palacio de Congresos to the entrance to the Via de Cintura. Traffic will not be cut off, but there will be only one lane of traffic. On Sunday and Monday evenings, traffic will be closed on the Via de Cintura in the direction of Andratx from the airport motorway to the Inca motorway junction. In the Palma direction, the road will be closed between the Valldemossa road and Son Hugo.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night, the road will be closed from the airport motorway to the Inca motorway in the direction of Andratx. In the direction of Palma, the Cintura road will be closed from the Valldemossa road to the airport motorway.
Characteristics of the works
The work to reinforce the road surface on the Cintura road and the fourth lane on the airport motorway, announced by the president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, in September, has a budget of 16 million euros. They consist of renovating the entire asphalt of Mallorca’s busiest artery along some 8 kilometres. With the new high-quality, non-slip road surface, the works also include branch roads and will reach as far as the Génova tunnel. It should be remembered that it has been more than 14 years since an improvement of this kind has been made on the Beltway. This will improve safety and traffic flow.
This action will also modify the subway at the Can Blau roundabout, which currently has only two lanes from the airport motorway in the direction of Andratx, and will now have three. The aim is to eliminate the traffic funnel that forms at rush hour. A fourth lane is also being built on the airport motorway toward Palma. It will run from the Molinar roundabout to the ring road, and access to the ring road of the same motorway and the Manacor road will be improved.
