Aid of 250,000 euros
The plenary session of the Consell de Mallorca has approved the allocation of an extraordinary aid of 250,000 euros for those affected by the DANA in Valencia. This is an initial contribution that will be channelled through the Federation of Local Entities of the Balearic Islands (FELIB), in response to an appeal by the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP).
The contribution of the Consell de Mallorca responds to the desire to support the difficult situation in different Valencian municipalities affected by the storm, which has caused fatalities, serious material damage and has affected the lives of many families and the operation of businesses. The island institution wishes to convey the solidarity and support of all Mallorcans in these difficult times for Valencians.
The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, reiterated that ‘in the face of this catastrophe and on behalf of all the people of Mallorca, we are making this initial contribution to give all our support to those who need it most and as a sign of our commitment to solidarity and inter-territorial collaboration. Valencia needs all of us in these difficult times’.
The Consell de Mallorca has also made available to the aforementioned community the resources at its disposal to support other security forces. The third deployment of the Mallorca fire brigade is currently underway, with a team of twenty personnel and a crew of eight vehicles.
