SAMU 061 has made an investment of 198,975.38 €.
The SAMU 061 Emergency Care Management Department has set up a new clinical simulation and skills classroom to develop a training agenda focused on out-of-hospital care in usually uncontrolled environments. Simulation-based training makes it possible to recreate this type of scenario in which the care team must deal with situations in a safe environment to train technical and other less technical skills without the presence of facilitators in the room.

SAMU 061 has invested €198,975.38, with the insularity funds, to improve the simulation facilities. The new facilities will be accessible to all SAMU 061 Balearic Islands staff, as the technical equipment allows for remote recording and playback and/or alternative scenarios, as well as monitoring and evaluation of training sessions on the different islands.
The councillor for Health, Manuela Garcia, visited the SAMU 061 simulation area accompanied by the director general of the Health Service, Javier Ureña, and the manager of SAMU 061, Eloy Villalba.
Throughout 2024, SAMU 061 has trained a total of 591 professionals in its training classroom, who have received more than 1,200 accredited hours in its training area. In-house professionals and residents doing their rotations in the emergency department and in the emergency room have been trained.
