Nominations for the Esports IB 2024 Awards ratified

The award winners will be recognised at the gala on 20 December, to be held at the Conservatori Professional de Música i Dansa de Mallorca (Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance of Mallorca)

Melani Costa, Sete Benavides, Rudy Fernández, Rafael Nadal and Xavi Torres will receive the honorary award for their sporting careers.

The Consell de Govern, at the request of the Conselleria de Turisme, Cultura i Esports, has ratified the decision taken by the jury of the Esports IB Awards on Monday 11th November. This year, the gala organised by the Directorate General of Sports celebrates its seventh edition with the recognition of the best athletes and clubs of the 2023/2024 season.

Men’s Promise: Adrián Torres, Àlex Huguet and Michael Enabulele (3×3 basketball)

Women’s Promise: Neus Fernández and Martina Gomila (sailing)

Best female sportswoman: Juana Camilion (3×3 basketball)

Best male athlete: Marcus Cooper (canoeing)

Best adapted sportsman or woman: Joan Munar (athletics)

Best adapted sportswoman: Sara Guasch (paddle tennis)

Best women’s team: Club Voleibol Avarca de Menorca (volleyball)

Best men’s team: Islas Baleares Palma Futsal (indoor football)

Best coach: Antonio Vadillo (indoor football)

Best technique: Betty Menéndez (canoeing)

Honorary award: joint nomination for sporting retirement (Melani Costa, Sete Benavides, Rudy Fernández, Rafael Nadal and Xavi Torres).

The awards gala will be held on 20th December at the Conservatori Professional de Música i Dansa de Mallorca (Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance of Mallorca).

The councillor for Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzà, presided over the awards jury, which included representatives from the four island councils, the individual sports federations, the team sports federations, the Official College of Sports Science Graduates, and the Official College of Sports Science Graduates, the Official College of Graduates in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, the Association of Journalists of the Balearic Islands, the Union of Journalists of the Balearic Islands, the Association of Professional Sports Managers of the Balearic Islands and the Federation of Local Entities of the Balearic Islands.
