The director of Emergencies and Interior of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Pablo Gárriz, has attended this morning to the X Diada de Protección Civil de Eivissa, organized by the City Council of Santa Eulària des Riu, which has counted with the participation of the six groups of volunteers existing in the Pitiusas.
The day, held at the Palacio de Congresos de Eivissa and which was also attended by the mayoress of Santa Eulària des Riu, Carmen Ferrer Torres, has allowed visitors to learn about the working tools of the security and emergency forces through an exhibition organized for this purpose. The day ended with a lunch of fellowship.

The DG of Emergencies and Interior attends the X Diada de Protección Civil de Eivissa (10th Civil Protection Day of Eivissa)
Each municipality of the Pitiusas has a Civil Protection volunteer group, with a total of 202 volunteers. The existing groups are the AVPC of Eivissa, with 18 people; the AVPC of Sant Antoni de Portmany (48 people), the AVPC of Santa Eulària des Riu (34 people), the AVPC of Sant Joan de Labritja (29 people), the AVPC of Sant Josep de sa Talaia (32 people) and the AVPC of Formentera (41 people).
The actions of the municipal groups range from preventive security services where there is a high concentration of people, such as sporting events and other events where there is a high concentration of people.
Until last summer, the AVPCs of the Pitiusas have been activated on sixteen occasions due to the activation of a regional emergency plan.
