The ‘Ecodites’ campaign, created by Ecovidrio in collaboration with the Government, through the Department of Enterprise, Employment and Energy, will be promoted in 20 schools in seven different municipalities and seeks to raise awareness among the islands’ schoolchildren about glass recycling and promote environmental awareness.
It is an initiative that takes the form of workshops and combines the tradition of popular sayings from the Balearic Islands with sustainability and recycling. First, training is given on recycling so that, subsequently, participating students can create ecodites or messages which, inspired by typical Balearic sayings, will be printed on vinyls that will decorate the recycling containers located around each of the educational centres.
Afterwards, a voting process will be carried out on social networks to choose the best ecodite, which will be highlighted in the bins.
The campaign will have a second stage, between 20 January and 7 February 2025, in which all participants will compete to recycle as much glass as possible.
The school that achieves the highest volume of recycling and has the most voted ecodite will receive a prize of 1,000 euros in school supplies.
The project will be implemented in 7 municipalities of Mallorca: Pollença, Alcúdia, Santanyí, Calvià, Llucmajor, Marratxí and Muro, covering schools such as: CEIP Bocchoris, CEIP Miquel Capllonch, CEIP Norai, CC Nuestra Señora de la Consolación, CEIP Sant Domingo, CEIP Blai Bonet, CEIP Xaloc, CEIP S’Algar, CEIP Blanquerna (Es Pont d’Inca), CEIP Cas Saboners, CEIP Bendinat, CEIP Guillem Ballester i Cerdó, CEIP Ses Rotes Velles, CEIP Son Ferrer, CEIP Jaume I, CEIP Galatzó, CC Montision, CEIP Costa i Llobera, CEIP Ses Cases Noves (Es Pont d’Inca) and CEIP Nova Cabana (Es Pont d’Inca).
